OUR HYBRID APPROACH

When one of our valued partners proposed the idea of a floor-standing speaker, the company knew that it didn’t align with their ideal speaker construction. The larger wood surfaces of this type of speaker create resonances that distort the sound. However, instead of rejecting the proposal, we opted for an innovative solution: a closed enclosure design that is less susceptible to standing waves and offers better bass precision and room stability. The challenge was to combine the advantages of both designs – a feat that has long been a tradition at EINSTEIN.

ESSENTIAL FEATURES FOR A TRUE EINSTEIN SPEAKER

For a true EINSTEIN speaker you need:
– Deep and dynamic bass without any time delay
– Independence from room acoustics
– Natural music reproduction without any sound coloration
– Perfect timing
– Perfect balance across the entire frequency range

SEALED BOX DESIGN FOR DYNAMIC BASS AND EXcELLENT TIMING

The decision to use a sealed box design, as with all other EINSTEIN loudspeakers, was quickly made, as the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks, which are easier to compensate for. We searched for a suitable 8-inch driver for a sealed box construction that would provide truly good mid and bass reproduction. To meet our own demands for dynamics, we added a second 8-inch driver. The result was impressive: a loudspeaker with a genuine, dynamic bass, great authority, and excellent timing down to the deepest depths – exactly what we set out to achieve.

PERFECTING THE ACOUSTIC BALANCE

A great speaker requires more than just an impressive bass. The sound must be in perfect balance across all frequency ranges to create an unforgettable listening experience. That’s why we chose a phase-coherent 6dB crossover that optimally complements and maintains the perfect acoustic balance between our mid/woofers and tweeters. Although complex crossovers with many components allow for a linear frequency response, they also have disadvantages due to their complexity and can overload low-power amplifiers. That’s why we intentionally chose a crossover that ensures fast impulse response and natural music reproduction – for a lively, emotional listening experience.

IDEAL CONDITIONS FOR NATURAL MUSIC REPRODUCTION

“The Voice” is a floor-standing speaker featuring a matching tweeter for a two-way design with two mid/bass drivers and a first-order crossover. A low crossover frequency with very low distortion is important for transparent, clean, and pleasant reproduction of the entire high and upper midrange frequencies. The wide usable frequency range of the tweeter perfectly matches the two mid/bass drivers, creating ideal conditions for ultra-fast impulse response and natural music reproduction.

OPTIMIZING HIGH AND LOW FREQUENCIES

To create a balanced sound image, all frequencies must reach the listener’s ear simultaneously. Therefore, “The Voice’s” tweeter is positioned lower in the enclosure than the two woofers and features a waveguide and felt pad to optimize sound dispersion. The enclosure also has a 6-degree tilt for optimal time alignment with the woofers.

SOLID WOOD ENCLOSURE FOR NATURAL SOUND

The cabinet of “The Voice” is made of solid multi-layer plywood and is equipped with braces and a strut to avoid additional unwanted vibrations and achieve maximum rigidity with the most natural tonal color fidelity. The final fine-tuning was achieved using long-fiber natural wool as damping material in the midrange.

UNWIND AND IMMERSE: THE NATURAL SOUND

“The Voice” embodies all the typical characteristics of an EINSTEIN product: fast, precise, and absolutely natural. It is easy to set up in any room and does not require significant demands on room acoustics. One can simply sit down, immerse oneself in the music, and escape from the world for a while.
