All EINSTEIN products are characterized by an unusual sense of playfulness. They are extremely dynamic with perfect timing, accurately reproduce the recording spaces, and operate without any tonal coloration. All EINSTEIN developments are one hundred percent proprietary developments with equally simple and elegant (simply ingenious) solutions that command respect and admiration from true connoisseurs and insiders of the scene. In keeping with the spirit of the great physicist.
The simplicity and elegance of the products are also reflected in their puristic and noble exterior design. People from all over the world with various aesthetic preferences are excited about the visual appearance of the devices, which have been awarded numerous design prizes. This is the responsibility of the qualified interior designer Annette Heiss. She and her husband Volker Bohlmeier, the owner and driving force of the EINSTEIN Manufaktur, lead the fortunes of the small but exquisite company.
It is a principle of the EINSTEIN team to immediately incorporate new insights and improvements into ongoing production. This ensures constructive, honest, and customer-oriented development by the Bochum-based company. No EINSTEIN product leaves the factory until it has the best possible sound characteristics. Each device is manufactured as a unique piece and checked with competence and care. The purity of the sound image determines the straightforward construction of the components down to the smallest individual part. These uncompromising quality requirements are the benchmark for all EINSTEIN products. They meet the high demand of conveying music as a complex entity and creating HiFi devices that each enter the HiFi market as innovations and authorities.
Thanks to their uncompromising focus on quality and innovation, every EINSTEIN component has the potential to become a classic and maintain exceptional value if well cared for and maintained.
Only when a development exhibits the typical EINSTEIN sound qualities, when goosebumps arise, do the employees at EINSTEIN know that they are very close to their lofty goal. When the music becomes as tangible as at a live concert, when the listener immerses himself in a different world, then they have done everything right.
EINSTEIN’s sound is often praised by experts for its refreshing departure from the mainstream. Some listeners may find the sound shockingly different and elusive. During the CES trade show in Las Vegas, two test editors exclaimed, ”By miles ahead!” when they heard the EINSTEIN components. ”You’ve got one big problem, people won’t realize how far you have already gone!” The enthusiasm of the international press and the inclusion in the best-of lists in the high-end audio world consistently proves EINSTEIN Audio Components right. The Bochum-based manufactory has become synonymous with the highest sound quality and aesthetics.

For those who appreciate the finer things in life, music is often a beloved companion. For those who truly savor all of life’s sensory experiences, music is essential. It allows us to escape into another world, leaving behind the worries of our everyday life and opening ourselves up to new pleasures. Music has the power to uplift, comfort, inspire, and seduce us. It affects our emotions more than any other form of art or entertainment. Across cultures, music is a vital aspect of our shared human experience and an important cultural heritage. Thanks to technological advances, we can now enjoy the experience of live music performance from the comfort of our own homes, reproducing the magic of the concert hall through high-quality audio equipment. And for those who truly value this experience, there is EINSTEIN.
At EINSTEIN, developers prioritize achieving a realistic reproduction and creating an unparalleled sonic experience. The ultimate goal of every EINSTEIN component is to accurately convey the musical experience from the concert hall or recording studio with utmost precision. They possess the ability to recreate the original size and acoustics of the space, precisely render the most intricate frequencies, and maintain the authentic timbre of each voice and instrument without any tonal distortion. The EINSTEIN components achieve all of this by seeming effortlessness, exuding a seductive elegance in their performance. The highs are light and airy, the bass is tight, fast, and deep black. Nothing is depicted smaller or larger and every musician is exactly in the right place. The components are capable of bringing out even the finest differences in the tonality and dynamics of individual instruments or voices, allowing the listener to delve even deeper into the music.
In addition, all EINSTEIN devices have a special something that clearly sets them apart from all other devices. A customer described it as ”magical” during a demonstration. This sound sets new standards of its own. Once you have heard the EINSTEIN devices in a well-constructed complete EINSTEIN chain with good speakers, you will never forget them.
Volker Bohlmeier and Rolf Weiler embark on a research endeavor.
EINSTEIN debuted The Amp in 1990 after three years of development, setting a new standard in high-fidelity audio with its innovative circuitry and captivating sound qualities, which gained widespread recognition and appreciation from both industry experts and passionate music enthusiasts around the globe.

A Story to tell
EINSTEIN has found it’s traditional home in an old coal mine building in Bochum. The location in the industrial Ruhr area is an essential factor for the feasibility of small quantities at the highest level. The love for music, the goal to create something extraordinary and the urge for the best are the common ground and the drive of all individuals at EINSTEIN. The EINSTEIN team is never satisfied with half measures and works on each development until the best possible is achieved. That’s why each EINSTEIN component has the potential to last a long time in the market and become a classic.
The center and origin of the EINSTEIN manufactory is Volker Bohlmeier, the company owner and motor. A person for whom music, besides the other pleasures of life, has always been important – both creating it himself – as an enthusiastic guitarist – and listening to it. This passion and the desire to be able to listen to music at home, as well as at concerts, underlies the idea of building components that simply make music. The meeting with the developer Rolf Weiler has made the dream EINSTEIN possible.
The technical development of the devices at EINSTEIN lays in the hands of Rolf Weiler, who not only resembles the famous namesake of the company, but who is certainly ‘genius’ in his field. Simply modifying or more or less rebuilding circuits is an absolute taboo. All EINSTEIN developments/circuits are 100% self-developments with equally simple and elegant (i.e. ingenious) solutions, which command respect and admiration even from true connoisseurs. Completely in the sense of the great physicist.
Annette Heiss is responsible for all aesthetic decisions at the EINSTEIN manufactory. Together with her husband Volker Bohlmeier, they manage the affairs of the manufactory. People from all over the world, with the most diverse aesthetic preferences, are enthusiastic about the visual appearance of the devices, because the claim of simplicity and elegance is reflected in every single one of the EINSTEIN products, thanks to the qualified interior designer. For many, they are already considered classics today.
Diplom engineer Uwe Gespers is a true stroke of luck for the EINSTEIN manufactory. During his studies, the electrical engineer specialized in audio technology, specifically in tube technology. There are only a few who have a broader and deeper knowledge in this field.
Equally fortunate was the entry of the radio and television master craftsman Rolf Wittig. As a hobby guitarist, he had long been familiar with tube amplifiers. So the Einstein devices were a familiar working area for him from the beginning on. Together with the EINSTEIN team, he ensures a perfect and smooth service for all EINSTEIN products.
Klaus has been with us since 2009 and is responsible for creating all the layouts for our audio components. In addition, he plays a key role in the design and drawing of our product enclosures. Klaus’ expertise and attention to detail ensure that every component we produce meets our high standards of quality and precision.
Ivan Tupa is a technician working in our manufacturing department, responsible for assembling the mechanical and electronic components of our devices. With his experience and skill, he ensures that each component is manufactured according to our company’s specifications and quality standards.
As a valued member of our development team, the Dipl.-Ing. Sebastian Schlitte brings his expertise in both electronics and mechanical engineering to the table. His specialty in prototype construction allows us to bring new ideas to life and refine them until they are ready for production. He’s been a part of the EINSTEIN family for over 20 years.
Many of the countless suppliers and highly specialized processors of the individual components are located in the immediate vicinity. The proximity allows for direct contact, exchange, and short delivery times. And of course, we must not forget the many other well-educated and great individuals who support this grand life project both internally and externally.
OF AUTHENTIC CIRCUITRY
All EINSTEIN circuits are 100% original designs. We do not modify, we do not simplify, nor copy. That’s why developing an EINSTEIN product can take up to 5 years!
MADE IN GERMANY
Our technology and mechanics meet the highest standards. What we cannot do in-house is sourced locally. We prefer to work with partners directly in our region, the industrially influenced Ruhr area.

UNCOMPROMISING PERFORMANCE WITH HIGH-END COMPONENTS
We meticulously select components from reputable manufacturers to meet the specific requirements of each circuit, chosen for their unique ability to deliver exceptional sound and image quality while prioritizing long-term stability above all else.
MINIMAL SIGNAL ROUTING FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE
The signals in EINSTEIN devices always follow the shortest possible path, ensuring that the signal remains as pure as possible – a crucial factor for perfect sound reproduction.
EINSTEIN’S DUAL-MONO-CONSTRUCTION: UNMATCHED SOUND
The dual-mono construction of EINSTEIN devices – often fully symmetrical – ensures optimal channel separation and noise rejection. With high dynamic bandwidth, even the smallest details become audible, creating the signature EINSTEIN sound that makes musicians come to life. It’s as close to “live” as it gets.
WIDE FREQUENCY RESPONSE
The boundless bandwidth of EINSTEIN components allows for the transmission of all music signals with remarkable detail, without any limitations. The result is a captivating musical performance that transports you into the heart of the action, free from any spatial constraints. Experience the feeling of being fully immersed in the music, unrestrained and in perfect harmony.
THE EINSTEIN PRINCIPLE OF SUSPENDED MASS
The principle of the floating mass, a hallmark of all Einstein components, consistently avoids the creation of hum loops. This ensures that the desired signal remains completely unaffected, without any unwanted hum interference.
